Stewart Bohrer presents on
behalf of Commonwealth.
This summer, several members of our Virtual Design Construction (VDC) and Prefabrication team attended the Advancing Electrical Prefabrication Conference in Dallas, TX, and proudly represented Commonwealth on a national stage.
Our very own Stewart Bohrer was invited to present at the event, sharing how we automate data from our 3D models to streamline workflows between VDC, the prefab shop, and our team in the field. His session gave attendees a look into the powerful tools and processes we’re developing to improve communication and efficiency across project teams.
Also attending the conference were Alex Valentine, Jeff McCuen, and Sarah DeWispelare, who took part in various workshops, vendor booths, and presentations.
Jeff and Sarah had the opportunity to tour Cummings Electrical’s new facility, which gave them a unique chance to see how a large non-union shop operates. While some of their company’s processes differ from ours, the team noted several encouraging similarities in approach and innovation.
Throughout the event, the team connected with industry peers, vendors, and partners—many of whom we currently collaborate with in VDC. They also engaged with new software tools that we’ve been trialing, gaining valuable insights that will support ongoing research and future implementation decisions.
Overall, the trip was a great success and a reflection of our continued commitment to staying on the cutting edge of electrical prefabrication.
