General Foreman Evan Olson delivers talk about safety.
The Omaha Branch marked a memorable week in May by bringing together safety, recognition, and team camaraderie in a meaningful way. The week began with a strong focus on safety as Commonwealth Electric partnered with Turner Construction during Safety Week to reinforce a shared commitment to jobsite excellence.
On the final day, General Foreman Evan Olson delivered a message centered on the “Recognize, Respond, Respect” framework—highlighting the importance of identifying hazards early, responding thoughtfully, and building a culture grounded in mutual respect. His message reinforced that safety is everyone’s responsibility and that open communication and awareness are key to preventing incidents.
That same spirit of safety excellence carried into May 5th, when Omaha team members attended the National Safety Council Awards. Commonwealth Electric was honored as one of Nebraska’s Safest Companies for the 14th consecutive year—a reflection of performance exceeding the national industry average by 50% and a testament to the team’s dedication to doing things the right way.
The day concluded with a Cinco de Mayo celebration, where employees gathered for food, refreshments, and a lively “Hot Ones” challenge. Together, these moments captured the balance of accountability, teamwork, and pride that defines the Omaha team.
