Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest was recognized as one of “Nebraska’s Safest Companies” by the National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter (NSNC) at their annual Celebration of Safety luncheon held at the LaVista Convention Center on May 15.
Governor Jim Pillen joined the luncheon to recognize Nebraska companies and individuals who focus on the safety of their employees and others. Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest, along with 114 other Nebraska companies, was honored at the luncheon as Nebraska’s Safest Companies for its dedication to outstanding safety programs. These companies have implemented safety initiatives designed to reduce injuries and save lives.
Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest has an exemplary safety record that is more than 50 percent better than national average, compared to its industry classification, and has implemented comprehensive safety programs.
“Winning a Nebraska’s Safest Company Award clearly illustrates a company’s commitment to ensuring that their team members return home safely to their families at the end of each workday,” said Eric Koeppe, President/CEO of the National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter. “The Celebration of Safety honors the Nebraska organizations that have achieved excellence in safety this past year and we are proud to recognize their achievements in providing a safer Nebraska. We are honored that Governor Pillen joined us to recognize these Nebraska organizations.”
Keynote speaker Coach Terry Bowden spoke about leadership and the benefits of working together as a team for a common goal.
