 WHO WE

ARE

Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest is a 100% employee-owned, full-service electrical and low voltage contractor located in Arizona, Iowa, and Nebraska.

Commonwealth Electric specializes in large and small-scale commercial and industrial electrical work while offering 24/7 service, design and build assist, and pre-fabrication to ensure your project is completed with efficiency and expertise. Don’t be fooled, Commonwealth Electric is anything but common. As a leading electrical contractor in the Midwest and Southwest, we are constantly striving to achieve the best and exceed the needs and expectations of our customers.

Since the company was established in 1987, Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest has grown not only in size but also in its reputation to provide quality electrical services done right the first time, every time. This is the “Commonwealth Way,” a standard of expertise we have upheld for many years in the electrical contracting industry.

While the name Commonwealth has had roots in the electrical contracting industry for over 100 years, Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest as we know it today was founded on July 1, 1987. Now, several years later, Commonwealth has maintained our commitment to excellence with every project, big or small.

OUR HISTORY

Our four original owners – David Firestone, Thomas M. Price, Glen Moss, and Pat Campbell – were able to nourish the growth of this company through a myriad of economies, building trends, technology changes, and electrical industry standards. From the company’s inception, Commonwealth has grown from just 89 employees to over 1000 people across locations in the Midwest and Southwest. With our highly trained workforce and supportive overhead staff, our clients can always count on Commonwealth to provide high-quality electrical work and outstanding service.

“In the morning when I open my office door and flick the lights on, I’m now looking at the center of operations for a multi-million-dollar company. My company. It will only be successful if I make it that way.”
