Company History

Over 32 years in business, Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest has not only grown in size, but in its promise to provide quality services done right the first time, every time. Commonwealth Electric has built its reputation on a foundation of integrity, discipline, and expertise.

Commonwealth Electric, Inc. began in the Twin Cities over 100 years ago. In 1947, the company opened up a branch in Lincoln, Nebraska and in 1987, the four original owners founded Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest. From the company’s inception, we have grown from 89 employees to over 720 people across nine locations in the Midwest and Southwest.

Since the first payroll in 1987, our commitment to excellence has seen the company through a myriad of economies, building trends, technology changes and industry standards. Our clients can count on Commonwealth not only for master workmanship, but for exemplary service and maintenance. There is no project that’s too big or too small for Commonwealth. With the ever changing landscape of the industry, we guarantee our work and commitment to each and every project.
