SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Rydalch Electric, Inc., a Commonwealth Company, through its Commonwealth Cares initiative, has generously donated $25,000 to the Mountain West Chapter of Breakthrough T1D, formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). This donation underscores Commonwealth’s commitment to illuminating lives and serving the community.

Breakthrough T1D, the leading global organization for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy, strives to enhance everyday life for those with T1D while driving toward cures. The organization is opening doors that were once closed by T1D diagnosis, leading the way to more effective solutions by connecting the brightest minds to advance treatments, influence policy, and improve access to care. By driving innovation forward, Breakthrough T1D aims to make T1D a thing of the past. Its mission is to improve lives, both today and tomorrow, by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications.

“As the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy organization, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) are very grateful to Rydalch Electric and Commonwealth Cares for their kind and generous partnership. With this kind donation, Rydalch Electric is helping accelerate life-changing breakthroughs for those living with type one diabetes.”

– Mike Somers, Market Director | Breakthrough T1D Mountain West Chapter

Jacob Hancock, a project engineer for Rydalch Electric, nominated Breakthrough T1D for the Commonwealth Cares initiative due to his personal experience with T1D and the organization. Jacob has been heavily involved with the Breakthrough T1D Mountain West Chapter, advocating for T1D by voicing the importance of government funding for research and the price of insulin. Alongside the Rydalch Electric team, he has also participated in the Walk to Find a Cure and volunteered at numerous other community outreach events.

“I nominated this charity because it has helped me throughout my life. My family has been a strong supporter since I was three years old, and the services and support they supply have impacted us greatly. It is because of this organization that I have been introduced to the lifesaving devices and knowledge that have enabled me to live a productive life with this disease. The sense of belonging and normalcy I found through this group is truly special, and these experiences have left a lasting impact on my life.”
