Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest is proud to support Run As One for Taylor, a Winterset, Iowa nonprofit selected to receive a $5,000 donation from its Commonwealth Cares initiative. The organization was nominated by Travis Powell, Vice President of Operations in Des Moines.
Run As One for Taylor was established in memory of Taylor Ham-Aleman and is dedicated to keeping her legacy alive by spreading kindness throughout the community. The organization brings people together through meaningful events and uses the funds it raises to support random acts of kindness throughout the year. Its efforts have included scholarships, school lunch assistance, care packages for individuals undergoing cancer treatment, holiday gifts for families, school support and assistance for families experiencing difficult circumstances.
“In memory of their daughter, The Run As One For Taylor is continuously striving to make a meaningful impact by dedicating their time, resources and energy to helping the community and others,” said Powell.
From helping students through scholarships to supporting neighbors in need, the organization continues to bring people together around a simple goal: spread kindness. Through Commonwealth Cares, we’re proud to support Run As One for Taylor and the meaningful work it is doing in Winterset and the surrounding community. This donation is another example of how our employee-owners can help shine a light on organizations making a difference in the communities we call home.
Commonwealth Cares reflects our commitment to being a force for positive change in the communities where we live and work. Through charitable giving and community involvement, the program supports organizations that are making a meaningful difference and helps illuminate the lives of those around us. By investing in causes that matter to our employees and the communities we serve, Commonwealth Cares puts our commitment to Customers, Employees, Character and Mastery into action beyond the work we do every day.
