During the month of October, Commonwealth celebrated Employee Ownership Month, a highly anticipated annual tradition. Founded in 1982 by the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Association, the month-long celebration highlights the many benefits of employee-owned companies and the impact they have on our communities.
Each year, a different theme is chosen, and this year’s was Sports! Throughout the month, our Employee Ownership Committee organized events, activities, and other outreach based on its core values of Community Service, Wellbeing, Education, and Social Interaction.
To begin the month, our employee-owners collected donations to benefit local non-profit organizations supporting sports opportunities for underprivileged children. Our teams also began working on their submissions for a month-long pumpkin decorating contest.
Later on in the month, all had the opportunity to attend various webinars to broaden their knowledge of our ESOP and learn how to better protect themselves on the road. In addition, the Employee Ownership Committee hosted a week-long trivia competition, with daily questions about sports and employee-ownership.
To wrap up the month, each of our locations gathered to celebrate our employee-ownership and spend time with coworkers.
A huge thank you to our Employee Ownership Committee for their hard work in making this Employee Ownership Month one to remember!
