Commonwealth Electric Partners with DPR Construction for Pentec Health Project

The Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest (CECM) team in Phoenix, AZ, has been chosen as the electrical subcontractor for Pentec Health, Inc.’s new facility.  General Contractor DPR Construction has entrusted CECM to deliver the critical electrical infrastructure for the building.

Known nationwide for its leadership in specialty infusion pharmacy and clinical nutrition services, Pentec Health, Inc. needed a facility that could match its vision: a cutting-edge clean room and pharmacy built to safely prepare both sterile and hazardous medications.

Located in Gilbert, AZ, the build out of a new 36,000-square-foot facility will more than double Pentec’s sterile compounding and dispensing capacity, introducing the company’s third licensed pharmacy and opening new pathways for advanced therapies across the country.  The project scope includes lighting and power systems, lighting control, a generator, automatic transfer switches, an expansion to the existing service entrance section, and a turnkey fire alarm system.

Prefabrication plays a key role — from assembling panelboards and racks to conduit bends and offsets, supplementing our on-site labor while ensuring consistent quality. With a project that has limited laydown space, this offsite prefabrication matters.

The CECM field team has worked closely with DPR and Pentec to adapt quickly as design adjustments emerge while keeping the early-turnover areas on track. The project demands collaboration, flexibility, and constant communication — traits that have played a role in our continued partnership with DPR.

DPR has recognized CECM’s team for exceptional safety, responsiveness, and electrical expertise. As unexpected challenges have surfaced with existing equipment as well as major equipment ordered for the project, CECM and the manufactures’ representatives have worked together to provide electrical expertise to resolve the issues, minimizing impacts to the project schedule without compromising the design intent.

When complete in February 2026, Pentec Health’s new facility will stand as one of the most advanced compounding pharmacies in the nation, designed to meet growing demand and deliver exceptional care. Behind the walls, conduits, and switchgear is the unseen precision of Commonwealth, whose craftsmanship and teamwork will continue to build our relationship with DPR Construction and Pentec Health.
