Des Moines Team Is Committed to Safety

By Todd Longenecker – Safety Director | Omaha, NE

One of Commonwealth’s Des Moines, IA, crews recently flew to Phoenix, AZ, to perform medium voltage work. Upon arriving on site, they were asked to work in an environment that they identified as being potentially life-threatening. Upon informing the client of the situation and offering multiple alternative solutions, the client did not approve. Ultimately, the crew ended up flying back home without completing the work.

The courage these individuals displayed to stand their ground and not jeopardize their safety is incredible. At Commonwealth, we expect and empower all our employees to be champions of their own safety and use stop work authority when necessary. We are proud of our crew’s commitment to safety and are very thankful they were able to make it home safely.

We’re proud of our Des Moines, IA, crew!
