The Duncan Aviation Family Trust, established in 2004, focuses on enhancing education, creating positive community change, and increasing awareness and interest in the aviation industry. Each year, the Trust awards over $500,000 in grants to nonprofits in the communities where Duncan Aviation and Commonwealth employees live. These grants support various community centers, after-school programs, United Way initiatives, scholarships, schools, and other organizations.
“We are so grateful for this generous donation. The Duncan
Aviation Family Trust will use this towards supporting needs
in our Lincoln community in alignment with our mission to
enhance education, human services that create positive
change, and inspire interest in the aviation industry.”
– Connie Duncan,
Vice President, Duncan Aviation Family Trust
Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest has partnered with Duncan Aviation for over 35 years. This collaboration has fostered strong connections between Commonwealth’s electrical team and Duncan Aviation’s facilities maintenance staff and leaders, which has been key to their mutual success.
The Commonwealth Cares initiative formalizes all aspects of the company’s giving under the banner “Energizing Communities for a Brighter Tomorrow,” building upon local efforts and establishing a framework for more significant, strategic charitable actions. Commonwealth’s philanthropic approach is rooted in the belief that the company exists not only to deliver top-tier electrical, low voltage, and exposition services, but also to actively contribute to the betterment of its industry, customers, and communities. This approach fosters a sense of ownership and community within Commonwealth, encouraging employees to actively contribute and nominate charities that are important to them. This inclusive process allows employees to use their skills, volunteer their time, and have a say in the philanthropic direction of their company.
