The Central Engineering team helps clean and organize at the Hope Center for Kids.
In recognition of National Volunteer Week, the Central Engineering team in Omaha, NE, stepped out of the office to give back to the community. Eleven department employees volunteered their time at The Hope Center for Kids, an organization that offers after-school and summer programs focused on academic support, positive enrichment activities, and career-readiness development for children.
The Commonwealth volunteers spent a couple of hours cleaning and organizing the Art Center, helping transform it into a welcoming and functional space where students can learn and create. The day began with a tour of the facility, allowing the team to learn more about the Center’s mission and the wide range of resources available to the children it serves. During the school year, The Hope Center serves more than 100 students each day—a number that more than doubles during the summer months—making the timing of the volunteer efforts especially impactful. Overall, the day was a success, and the team felt proud to have made a positive difference.
