When a service member or veteran is receiving medical care, having family close by can make all the difference. This fall, our Tucson team was proud to support that connection with a $10,000 Commonwealth Cares donation to the Fisher House Foundation.

Since 1991, Fisher House Foundation has provided “comfort homes” near military and VA medical centers, giving military and veteran families a place to stay at no cost while a loved one receives care. By removing the financial burden of hotels and travel, Fisher House helps families focus on what matters most: being together.

Terri Beilman, Office Administrator in our Tucson office, nominated Fisher House for the Commonwealth Cares donation. In her nomination, Terri described the organization as one that “provides vital, compassionate support to military members, veterans and their families during some of their most difficult moments.”

In October, Terri joined Jay Hoobler and Rita Callaway to present the $10,000 donation on behalf of Commonwealth. During their visit, Fisher House staff provided a tour of the home, including one of the guest rooms where families stay while their loved ones receive care.

“It was truly exciting to see the house in person and learn more about the impact it has on the families it serves,” Terri said. “Seeing the welcoming and comfortable environment firsthand reinforced the importance of their mission.”
