Greater NE Branch Hosts 2024 Annual Events

This year has been filled with exciting events and memorable moments for employees of Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest’s Greater Nebraska team and their families.

Second Annual Fishing Derby

On June 1, employees and their families gathered at L.E. Ray Park in Grand Island, NE, for a fun-filled morning of fishing. The kids were thrilled to receive fishing poles and sling bags with tackle, which helped them catch fish and even turtles! After a successful fishing session, everyone enjoyed a lunch of hot dogs and burgers grilled to perfection.

Third Annual Pumpkin Patch Party

On September 21, employees and their families enjoying a fantastic day at Helgoth’s Pumpkin Patch in St. Libory, NE. The weather was perfect, making it an ideal day for exploring the pumpkin patch. The event featured a hot dog roast lunch and a variety of sweet treats, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Tenth Annual Golf Outing

The annual Greater Nebraska Golf Outing was another great success! Employees enjoyed a day of perfect golfing weather, great food, and a wide variety of prizes. The event also included employee awards, recognizing the outstanding contributions of field employees. The honorees were:

  • Most Valuable Service Tech: Andrew Alazo
  • Most Valuable Low Voltage Tech: Jackson Pembo
  • Most Valuable Foreman: Andy Vajgrt
  • Most Valuable Apprentice: Dakota Talley
  • Most Valuable Incoming Electrician: Caleb Henry

Additionally, Commonwealth Challenge Coins were awarded to General Forman Andy Vajgrt and Administrative Assistant Eve Jacobson for their exceptional dedication and hard work.

The Greater Nebraska Culture Committee is already looking forward to continuing these fun events in 2025, ensuring that employees and their families have even more opportunities to connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories together.
