Two Commonwealth employees perform maintenance at ADM’s expansion.
ADM’s continued investment in lower‑carbon solutions is at the heart of its CO2 recapture expansion in Columbus, NE, and Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest (CECM) is proud to be part of that journey. The initiative captures CO2 produced during ethanol processing and routes it into controlled systems for reuse or safe handling—reducing emissions while supporting efficient, reliable operations. From day one, our focus has been a seamless experience for ADM’s team: infrastructure that works in the background so production can stay front and center.
Working under General Contractor Burns & McDonnell and in close coordination with ADM’s instrumentation and commissioning teams, CECM provided the electrical backbone that powers, controls, and integrates the new system into plant operations. Rather than just “installing equipment,” the CECM team—led by Project Manager Jeremy Braun, with Superintendent Brent Brabec and General Foreman Chase Lovell—prioritized clear communication and a clean, predictable workflow that supported ADM’s daily operations.
Safety was a daily commitment. Working inside an active facility, we paired pre‑task planning and rigorous procedures around live‑plant interfaces with consistent housekeeping and coordinated scheduling to minimize downtime and disruption. This discipline kept the project moving smoothly and set the stage for reliable performance from day one.
CECM is proud to support ADM’s commitment to innovative, lower‑carbon operations, and we value the trust placed in our team. As ADM continues to advance its sustainability goals, we look forward to supporting future initiatives with the same focus on safety, collaboration, and reliable performance.
