Supported by our dedicated employees and customers, Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest continues on its strategic growth plan. As part of this growth, I am excited to recognize one of our outstanding leaders in the company. Recently, the Commonwealth Board of Directors unanimously promoted Michael Duffy to Vice President. Michael is the manager of our Des Moines location, and he will continue to lead and direct our Des Moines, Iowa branch operations.
Michael Duffy has been with Commonwealth since the company opened its doors on July 1st, 1987. During his 34-year-tenure, Michael has progressed through our Des Moines branch in many different roles. He completed his electrical apprenticeship through the Iowa IBEW Local 347 and started working for Commonwealth as an electrician and electrical foreman. In 1999 he transitioned into the office and became a Project Manager. In 2018, Michael became Branch Manager of our Des Moines location where he is responsible for supervising all operations. As a Vice President, Michael will continue to lead our Iowa Team as an officer of the company.
