Rydalch Electric, Inc. was very proud to be selected as the electrical contractor on the first phase of the Delta Center renovation project.

The Delta Center, located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, UT, was built in 1991 and has hosted numerous concerts, UFC events, two NBA All-Star weekends, skating events during the 2002 Winter Olympics, and is the longtime home of the NBA’s Utah Jazz. In 2024, the Smith Entertainment Group brought the NHL to Utah, which necessitated transforming the Delta Center into a dual-sport arena with great sightlines and fan experiences for both hockey and basketball, while maintaining flexibility to host other types of events.

This $6.6 million electrical project included one-line modifications, lighting and power remodels to support restroom and suite expansions, upgrades to the Black Desert Club luxury suite, four dehumidifiers that ensure peak ice conditions, and a state-of-the-art retractable riser seating system that allows custom seating configurations for all types of events. The project was completed under an extremely tight deadline, needing to be finished between the end of the NBA season in April and the beginning of the NHL season in October. Two crews worked six days per week from 6 a.m. to midnight to complete the project, with the day crews led by General Foremen Kelly Kolb and shift foremen Jordan Worthington and Ryan Clement, and the night crew led by Jeff Howard, under the direction of Project Manager Dave Smith.
