A Commonwealth electrician works on site at the new dealership.
Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest (CECM) is proud to be part of the new Grand Island, NE, Woodhouse Toyota and Honda dealership, a major development that will significantly elevate both customer experience and service capacity in the region. Led by Project Manager Jacob Svoboda and Foreman Thomas Stroda, the project encompasses roughly 40,000 square feet, marking a dramatic expansion that will more than quadruple the size of the existing dealership.
Under General Contractor Chief Construction, CECM’s scope includes all electrical work, while Midwest Alarm has been subcontracted to provide the fire alarm system. The dual-brand nature of the dealership has created several interesting design elements: although Toyota and Honda will share a unified service bay, each manufacturer will maintain its own uniquely styled showroom, giving the facility a distinctive and versatile layout. This adds both complexity and opportunity for collaboration among the project teams.
One intricate component of the project involves a full block wall construction throughout the service area. Foreman Thomas Stroda has been working closely with the block layers to ensure proper placement of device boxes and conduit within the walls. This coordination requires precise timing, clear communication, and careful planning to ensure that all systems are seamlessly integrated.
As the dealership takes shape, this project stands as an exciting example of CECM’s ability to deliver high-quality work on large, multifaceted builds. The Grand Island Woodhouse Toyota/Honda dealership will soon become a standout facility for the community, and our team is proud to help bring this modern, expanded vision to life.
